Founded in 1971, Belfast Millers Ltd is a value driven company engaged in the supply of high quality feeds for Poultry, Cattle, Pig, Equine, Dogs, Rabbits and other specialist feeds. We sell directly to farmers, distributors and a number of government agencies. The company manufactures and supplies quality feeds at fair prices with technical support to enable the farmer to thrive in his/her enterprise, ultimately ensuring that the company grows with its customers.
Our core values of Honesty, Integrity and Fairness underpins everything we do. We regard our customers as our partners and work closely with them. We support them with our knowledge and experience to enable them to reap maximum benefit from their hard work.
The end users of our feeds include small holder farmers, large farmers and Ranches, Kenya Animal Genetic Resource Centre, Kenya Veterinary Vaccine Production Institute, Kenya Agriculture & Livestock Organisation, National Blood Transfusion Service, Ministry of Livestock and many other organisations.

Sustainability
Feed nutrition is critical in animal health and welfare and a major cost in livestock production furthermore Feeds are the component that contributes to the majority of land use, freshwater consumption, chemical inputs. As the population continues to grow, the growing demand for food means that there is also a growth in livestock production with the resulting impact on the environment.
At Belfast Millers, we consider sustainability to be of paramount importance and thus, it is integrated into our business strategy and incorporated into all aspects of our day to day operations. Sustainable practices provide safe, quality nutritious products; lower production costs; minimise output that affects the environment; and promote judicious use of natural resources. Our sustainability initiatives have been defined in accordance with the Sustainability of Animal Diets (StAnD) framework, by the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations. The initiatives are summarised below.
Social
We strive to provide a safe and secure working environment and continuously monitor workplace safety, health and well being, diversity and inclusion, and training and development. We are steadfast in our commitment to equal employment opportunity, the protection of human rights, and the prevention of human trafficking.
Our feeds enhance the benefit to cost ratio without compromising on quality to ensure a high performance, affordable feed.
We maximise the use of raw materials that are locally available to support the local economy.
We work hard to educate farmers on improving on farm management to enhance efficiency and maximum returns from their enterprise whilst minimising wastage.
We work with communities to improve lives and society as a whole by engaging in social support activities.
Environment
A large proportion of our raw materials is derived from the byproducts of the grain milling industry thus employing a circular approach to manufacturing.
Solar power provides more than 75% of our energy needs substantially reducing our carbon footprint. Space optimisation and water control measures are also in place to optimise land and water use.
Our packaging materials are reused and recycled. Our Production and overall operations generate less than 0.01% waste.
We continuously support environment conservation initiatives involving tree planting, environmental clean up and forest conservation.
Animal Health
All our products are free from antibiotics or synthetic growth promoters.
Our manufacturing processes have been designed to augment bio-security. The feeds are tested regularly to ensure optimal performance.
Just-In-Time production practices are applied to provide fresh feed and reduce feed degradation.
Our on ground support work with farmers helps mitigate effects of disease outbreaks and disease management.
Further to this, we are committed to identifying any additional opportunities for sustainable improvement. We are engaged in continuous research and development to improve the performance of our feed. We also closely follow the latest advancements in technology and innovation, incorporating them into our feeds.
Community
Belfast Millers is committed to investing part of its resources in strengthening the local community. To this end we aim to support the vulnerable and underprivileged in our community through participation in various charitable activities and initiatives that are integral to the well-being of the community. Examples of this are sponsorship of various Medical camps including the Shah Free Eye & ENT camp in Thika, the Endoscopy and Colonoscopy Unit at M P Shah Hospital, Nairobi, Lions Eye Hospital, Jaipur Foot Project.
We make food donations to the needy on a regular basis and participate in many community empowerment initiatives.
We also support several Environment protection and Conservation initiatives.
